Oliewenhuis Art Museum, a satellite of the National Museum, has a very active Education program providing activities for a wide variety of individuals. We take our duty very serious to educate the general public about our prestigious museum, South African art and artists. In so doing, we have designed different programs to achieve this responsibility. Our activities range from African Carousel Rides, a Sculpture Park treasure hunt, Guided Tours, interactive art-related booklets, educational talks and lectures, workshops and interactive walkabouts presented by exhibiting artists.

The Education Department consist of the Education Officer working together with a group of highly competent Art Museum Guides to design programs, conduct tours and facilitate activities. We have a big passion for our community outreach involvement. This consists of art therapy-related workshops and our commitment to provide a creative and positive experience for disadvantaged children.
