Invitation for applications to sell food, beverages and suitable services at Oliewenhuis Art Museum to enhance our Special Day Celebrations from 10:00 – 15:00 for a period of 12 months.

*Preliminary dates for Special Day Celebrations:

1) 16 December 2024, Reconciliation Day

2) 21 March 2025, Human Rights Day

3) 27/28 April 2025, Freedom Day

4) 16 June 2025, Youth Day

5) 9 August 2025, Women’s Day

6) 24 September 2025, Heritage Day

7) 16 December 2025, Reconciliation Day 

Please note this is not an extensive market and approval of applications will be limited to what best contributes to the theme and atmosphere of the celebrations.

Application deadline: 00:00 on Monday, 2 December 2024.

Successful applicants will be notified by before or on Friday, 6 December 2024.

Oliewenhuis Art Museum, a satellite of the National Museum in Bloemfontein, will be celebrating Special Days by inviting the public to join us and for a relaxing family day by preparing a delightful picnic, soaking up the sun in the front garden, and to appreciate the diverse art exhibitions on show. A DJ will provide a variety of background music and there will be a few stalls selling food, snacks and refreshments.

We therefore call on all interested parties to apply if you can provide any of the following: (If you offer any services/ products other than those below you are welcome to apply, and we will consider your application).

  • a food truck / stall selling light meals for lunch, ‘braai’ or other heritage related stalls will receive preference
  • cool drinks, water and snacks
  • ice cream (soft serve or other)
  • a coffee truck /stall with good coffee
  • a ‘soft toy’ play area or any other safe entertainment for children

Please note:

  • If your application is successful a fee of a R100 for the day will be charged.
  • Please note that this is an outdoor daytime event and there are limited shade available.
  • Stalls should be completely set up and functional by 9:30 and remain open until 15:00.
  • Vendors must provide their own gazebos, tables, chairs and all other equipment.
  • Please note that there is no electricity available on the front lawn.
  • Vendors selling food must have a valid food license or permit for the kitchen in which the food is prepared, or a certificate to operate at this specific event (please attach the license on your application).
