To celebrate International Museum Day 2022 the Education Department of the National Museum visited 2 Old Age Homes in Bloemfontein and Pahameng.
Patrys Meyer and Andries Makwaai presented an informative PowerPoint presentation on the background, the history and exhibitions of our Museum. It was an ideal opportunity to show the public the wide variety of what we have to offer and what they can expect on a visit to our Museum. Each senior burger received a postcard of the Museum. We reached a total of 104 senior burgers.

We were also invited to take part in their International Museum Day Celebrations hosted by the Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture – Eastern Cape, at the Barkley High School Hall in Barkley East.
Mr Makwaai exhibited artefacts from our Mobile Museum and show interesting objects from different departments of our Museum. He told learners more about what they can expect at the Museum and which educational activities we have to offer to make their visit to our Museum an unforgettable experience.
He handed out our educational brochures, pamphlets of the Museum and its satellites, Culnas and branded pens with the National Museum’s contact details on. We reached a total of 100 learners and educators.
