Celebrating World Bee Day 2026!

The B-Hive Independent School celebrated World Bee Day by visiting the National Museum’s Education Department with their Foundation phase learners.

World Bee Day was celebrated around the world this year on the 20th of May 2026 to raise awareness about the threats to pollinators like bees. The learners from the B-Hive school came for a special lesson on Honeybees to learn more about why we need honeybees, how they make honey and to learn more about their life cycle. They were able to touch and feel certain objects regarding bees. These enthusiastic bee-lovers were also able to taste real honey after the lesson! To round off their trip, they enjoyed the Museum exhibitions and viewed a huge model of a honeybee in the Invertebrate Hall.
